    I pictured a young girl with flowing wavy hair, dry throat singing to her baby brother with broken voice as she consoles him - sad but beautiful.

    oh goodness...that last line is a zinger...and i imagine her trying to sooth her sibling even knowing the truth of what is to come in life...powerful haiku...

    subtle and intense. this haiku is amazing actually, the prompt perfectly used. they are devastated, and yet the elder one knew it was already time to rebuild. Lovely.
